Mick Mars, one of the most underrated guitarists of the 80s

Next February 23rd the former guitarist of Motley Crue Mick Mars will release his solo debut album “The Other Side Of Mars”whose release was anticipated by the singles “Loyal To The Lie” And “Right Side of Wrong”. Among the rounds of promotional interviews for the new album there was also one with the WRIF radio station in Detroit.

Mars, among other questions during the chat, was asked whether in his opinion he is one of the most underrated guitarists of the ’80s. Robert Alan Dealthis is the real name of the 72-year-old musician from Terre Haute (Indiana) replied: “Well, ok. It’s fine with me if you think I’m underrated. I think there are many people who think like you, just as there are many who they don’t think so. Maybe because I don’t fly on the keys. I probably don’t play as fast as I would have liked to play, I never reached the depths of Alvin Lee when he made “I’m Going Home”. To me it sounded fast, because it was melodic and the notes were clean and suited the song.”
