Vieux Farka Touré will bring desert blues to Madrid
Their live shows combine tradition, West African sounds, blues and rock. Also on their albums. Thanks to this he has become one of the great figures of current African music, in addition to standing out as one of the best instrumentalists of his generation.
Born in Mali and son of the legendary Ali Farka ToureVieux has turned the heritage of desert blues into a language of its own, incorporating rock, Latin rhythms and other African influences. His virtuosity on the guitar has earned him, as we said, the nickname “the Hendrix of the Sahara”, while the energy and charisma of his concerts have taken him to stages and festivals around the world.
In Madrid you can see him Next October 29 at the Sala Mon Live. There he will present a live show that will cover a trajectory marked by the constant dialogue between tradition and experimentation. In his latest works, they stand out “Les Racines” (22) and “Ali”his celebrated collaboration with Khruangbinin which he reinterprets eight of his father’s songs from a contemporary and psychedelic perspective.
