Michael Jackson: the first photo of his nephew as the pop star
The filming of the biopic which in 2025 will revive the story of Michael Jackson in cinemas comes to life and director Antoine Fuqua shares the first shot from the set on social media: the photo portrays the nephew of the King of Pop, Jaafar Jackson – 27-year-old son of his brother of the singer, Jermaine – as the uncle. The shot, as the director underlines, bears the signature of Kevin Mazur, a photographer whom Michael Jackson enlisted for the rehearsals of “This is it”, the series of concerts in London which was supposed to bring the voice of “Thriller” back onto the stage, before of sudden death. The resemblance is striking:
“Michael”, this is the title of the film, according to previews, will offer “a compelling and honest portrait of the brilliant but complicated Jackson, who enjoyed stardom as a child before leaving the family group to conquer pop culture as a solo artist. Despite everything his success was also a polarizing figure, facing multiple controversies and several allegations of child sexual abuse. The film is set to explore all aspects of Michael’s life, before his death in 2009, at the age of 50. ” Juliano Krue Valdi, 9 years old, will play Michael Jackson as a young man, when as a child prodigy he impressed everyone as the voice of the Jackson 5.
