Metallica with Apple for a “revolutionary” Live movie
THE Metal They joined the forces with Apple to create an innovative virtual reality of a concert recorded in Mexico City last September, as part of the band’s world tour to promote their latest album, M72.
The immersive experience of the concert will be available from March 14 on Apple Vision Pro and provides for the full execution of their classic songs, “Whiplash”, “One” and “Enter Sandman”.
Filming were recorded on very high resolution videos at 180 degrees and also present Apple’s space audio technology. He promises to capture the concert “from close observation points such as the famous Snake Pit, up to wide -angle views of the band of the band in the round”.
In a press release, Lars Ulrich Metallica said: “Changing the cards on the table is little to say the least. Seeing our concert in this way, together with the energy of the fans of Mexico City, is very engaging and very funny. We have always been interested in pushing ourselves beyond the borders and metal on Apple Vision Pro are exactly this”.
To launch the new movie concert in VR, Ulrich appeared in a conversation with Apple Music Zane Lowe at Sxsw on 11 March. The drummer told the process: “It was really fantastic, both as regards the part of the filming, and as regards the part of the assembly. The first times wearing the headphones and viewers and thus being able to see and also feel the audio (space) was simply crazy”.
