Matt Cameron: the post -rope disc of the soundgarden are almost ready
In an interview with Billboard USA, Matt Cameron updated to proceed with the work of the band’s latest album, made using recordings of Chris Cornell’s voice. He explained that “more than half” of the work have already arrived – which will contain eight songs that the band was working before the death of Chris Cornell, which took place in May 2017.
He informed forwarding that guitarist Kim Thayil is currently completing his instrumental contribution to the project, which, however, for the moment, does not yet have a expected release date.
“There are two schools of thought: an idea would be to anticipate the disc with a single, but I would prefer that we had first completed the work – which I can’t wait for the public to listen to”.
Cameron added that the work on the album “It was a swing of emotions:
“When I listen to Chris’s voice isolated from the rest of the tools, I can’t help but think that he is no longer with us.”
In April 2023 it had been announced that the latest Soundgarden album with Cornell’s voice would be published only after the band had solved the legal issues with Vicky, Chris’ widow, and last May Kim Thayil said it was optimistic about the possibility that the disc will finally be put on the market.
