Manu Chao Releases “Tu Te Vas”, Third Single From New Album
After “Viva Tu” and “Sao Paulo Motoboy”, Manu Chao presents “You Go”, the third single from his upcoming album “Long Live You”coming out on September 20th. A multilingual and unifying work of art, the album blends different genres into a collection of colorful postcards that put the human being at the center of everything. “You Go” is a delicate and sensitive ballad about two souls who choose to separate. True to Manu Chao’s style, the pain and struggle of existence are set to music. In collaboration with Laetithe rapper known for the “Validé” series, the song reflects on a past love to better face the future, without bitterness Sung in both French and Spanish, “Tu Te Vas” resonates with anyone who has dealt with the pain of a breakup.
This universal song transcends borders, wandering deep into emotions, and, despite the recurring and definitive phrase “j’reviendrai jamais” (I’ll never come back), does not exclude any future.
What remains are the ghosts, the shared kisses and the photos of someone who was loved (and perhaps is still loved), all of which, once the pain fades, will bring smiles, the smiles of those who have loved freely and are grateful for it. It is a message of hope, a refusal to obscure what was strong, sincere and intense. “I think we need to go back to the simple things. Complexity has brought the world to where we are today. Although I think that to get to the simple things, you have to go through complexity first… Anyway, what makes me happy is building simple projects and writing simple songs,” said Manu Chao. The mosaic of 13 new songs that make up Manu Chao’s upcoming album “Viva Tu”inspired by his travels and people’s daily lives, will address the current state of the world, both in real and virtual terms, in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English. There will also be notable collaborations, such as the one with the legendary Willie Nelson in “Heaven’s Bad Day”.
