Luigi Viva, the new dates of the show on Fabrizio De André
New round of shows for “Viva De André” to celebrate twenty -five years from the publication of the biography written by Luigi Viva: “Not for a God but not even for the game – Vita di Fabrizio De André” (Feltrinelli).
Viva in 2019 he also published “Parking of words, songs and music by Fabrizio De André” (Feltrinelli) who concluded the study agreed with the Genoese artist. De André before the disappers, which took place in 1999, managed to supervise and correct most of the two books.
“Viva De André” is inspired by the passion for jazz that the singer -songwriter played in his youth in Genoa in the late 1950s. Modern Jazz Group was the name of the band, whose Luigi Tenco was also part of the high sax.
Hence the idea of re -proposing classic jazz key such as “The war of Piero”, “Valzer for a love”, “The old city”, “Creuza de Mä”, “The song of Marinella” “The fisherman” “Mégu Megún” and the “Song of lost love”. The arrangements are due to the guitarist Luigi Masciari, whose latest album, “Somewhere in My Mind”, has been included in the Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Instrumental Composition categories for the Grammy Awards 2025.
“Reading – explains Luigi Viva -” Together with the most important phases of his life, from childhood, the passion for jazz and Georges Brassens, tries to re -propose a De André out of the patterns, highlighting its civil and political commitment, thanks also to images and unpublished audio contributions in which it is the same songwriter who tells each other ”
The CD containing the music of the show came out on behalf of Luigi Viva and Luigi Masciari for Jando Music/Via Veneto Jazz; Special guest Giulio Carmassi (ex Pat Metheny) and Michael League, leader of Snarky Puppy.
“Viva De André”, after the debut that took place on 7 July 2018 at the Südtirol Jazz Festival in Bolzano was staged with numerous sold outs in: Umbria Jazz Winter #26, Umbria Jazz Winter #30 with Danilo Rea, both at the Mancinelli Theater in Orvieto, Blue Note Milan, Auditorium Parco della Musica Roma (Special Guest David Blamires already in the Pat Metheny Group), Feltrinelli Foundation in Milan, Pala Cinema di Locarno for Ascona Jazz in the presence of Dori Ghezzi, Catania Jazz etc.

Luigi Viva, author of two books (“Not for a god but not even for the game- Life of Fabrizio De André” and “Parking of words- the songs and music of Fabrizio De André”, published by Feltrinelli), in his works highlighted the great passion of Fabrizio De André for jazz. In this theatrical show the band that accompanies the narrative proposes in a jazz key, under the musical direction of the guitarist Luigi Masciari, to whom all the new arrangements, classics such as: “The war of Piero”, “Valzer for a love”, “The old city”, “Creuza de Mä”, “The song of Marinella” “The fisherman” “Mégu Megún” and the “Song of Lord”.
