Lorenzza: from freestyles on social media to a contract with Sugar
Lorenzza has everything to prove, but she doesn’t seem to have any fear in having to do so. For some it could be the next star of the Italian urban scene, for others it is yet another name studied and built, industrially, in a laboratory. Will we be able, for once, to enjoy music first and foremost without preventive and unsolicited judgments? The hope is precisely that: his first EP will be released on November 13th at 8pmconsists of ten songs and bears his given name, “A Lorenzza”. It will be released under the hat Sugar, with which he signed a contract after getting noticed with some significant freestyles on social mediain which he showed a beautiful pen and an imagery that was anything but obvious (you can listen and see them here). She also entered in Cantera’s orbita company that deals with three different activities: management, consultancy and content creation, also carrying out the Esse Magazine media.
Lorenzza Lacerda Campos is a young Italian-Brazilian rapper, born in 2002 in Bahia, Brazil and moved as a child with her mother to Italy, to Pisa. He attracted attention in the local rap scene early on, thanks to his incisive flow and his deep lyrics, in which he talks about his life: the difficult childhood marked by immigration, the absence of the father and the strong bond with the mother, but also from toxic relationships and authentic friendships. In the summer of 2024 Lorenzza published a series of freestyle videos on his social media which, in a few weeks, achieved success, also capturing the attention of the major exponents of the Italian rap scene. Even before releasing her first official single, Lorenzza has already been mentioned in important media such as Aelle Magazinerecognizing, despite still being artistically immature, an authenticity and an ability to merge her Brazilian roots with Italian culture, thus creating a particular style that also reverberates in the images of her videos. She also performed at a MiAmi eventwho immediately believed in her.
He gave his first interview to Marie Claire, in which he said: “I was born in Brazil and then I was adopted. At the age of 3 I came to live in Pisa with my mother. I don’t have many memories of that period but today I consider Italy my first home. We went to Bahia a few times to visit our relatives, but never to return permanently. Even in the most complicated moments we decided to stay here.” And on his videos he explained: “I wanted to represent my world, mixing my two souls. Those clips (on which he raps, ed.) are small daily paintings, intimate, full of details and allow you to immerse yourself even more in my music. We filmed in Marina di Pisabut it is true that the white light, the sea, the rain and dark hair give a tropical touch to everything”.
