On stage the Canadian singer-songwriter will be accompanied by four of her historical collaborators: Caroline Lavelle on the cello, Brian Hughes on the guitar, Hugh Marsh on the violin and Dudley Phillips on the bass.

The concert will consist of two sets: the first dedicated to the best-known songs of his career, while the second entirely dedicated to the songs that compose “The visit”.

A few days before the double Italian performance Loreena McKennitt on March 8, close to the St Patrick’s Day, will publish “The Road Back Home”his new album that recalls the early days of his career and more traditional Celtic music.

The album will be available on CD, 180g vinyl and via digital music services, including Dolby Atmos, and will feature 10 songs, including many from McKennitt’s early days on the folk circuit, which have remained unreleased to date.

This summer he will be in our country again for five stages who celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the release of “The Mask and Mirror”.

Published in 1994, “The Mask and Mirror” has been called “timeless and transcendent” and praised for its cross-cultural contamination of Celtic, Spanish and Moroccan influences, and is undoubtedly one of the most beloved works of McKennitt who talks about it like this:

This album has been a historical and musical pilgrimage for me and I am thrilled to bring it back on stage during the summer tour in Europe. This is a milestone anniversary in my career and I can’t wait to celebrate..

In composing it, Loreena he says he followed several inspirations and considered some questions that resonate throughout history: “Who was God? What are religion and spirituality? What was revealed and what was hidden, what was the mask and what was the mirror?”
