Litfiba: the “Trilogy of Power” returns to vinyl
Almost forty years after the original publications, Litfiba bring their most famous period back to the center with two reissues dedicated to the so-called “Trilogy of Power”. Pre-orders for “17 Re” and the live “12/05/87 (Aprite i Vostri Occhi)” are active from today, two releases designed for collectors and vinyl enthusiasts. Litfiba will be on tour this summer: here is our interview. “12/05/87 (Open Your Eyes)” will be available again from June 19th in a new edition on double vinyl, both black and colored. Recorded at Tenax in Florence during the last date of the “17 Re” tour, the album captures one of the most intense moments of the formation composed of Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Gianni Maroccolo, Antonio Aiazzi and Francesco De Palma. The reissue features improved sound quality and, above all, includes for the first time on vinyl the track “Ballata”, previously available exclusively on CD, adding an important piece to the documentation of that evening.
As for “17 Re”, the album will be released on May 22nd in a new edition on double black vinyl and CD. Originally released in 1986, it is considered one of the fundamental works of Italian music: an album that combines post-punk tension and Mediterranean suggestions, becoming the heart of the band’s production. This reissue comes after the special Record Store Day edition and marks the return of the album in an accessible format, also in a digisleeve version with a 20-page booklet containing the lyrics. Inside, songs such as “Resta”, “Re del Silenzio” and “Cafè, Mexcal e Rosita” remain points of reference in their production. The two releases celebrate a historical phase in which Litfiba defined a language capable of uniting rock and commitment, bringing back on vinyl today all the expressive strength of those years.
