Liam Gallagher sets off on 'Definitely Maybe' 30th anniversary tour
Liam Gallagher's tour dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of “Definitely Maybe”, Oasis' debut album released in 1994, started yesterday evening, Saturday 1st June: the first date of the series of events was hosted by the Utilita Arena of Sheffield, where the former frontman of the “Supersonic” group performed not all the songs included in the first edition of the album, some of which were performed for the first time since the dissolution of the band once shared with his brother Noel.
Regarding, in fact, the eldest of the Gallaghers, Liam mentioned his brother twice during the evening, first performing – in the middle of the evening – “Half the World Away”, in the original sung by Noel, and – in the demo version – “Lock All the Doors” by the High Flying Birds, whose chorus was written in the early nineties for “My Sister Lover”, a song used as the B-side of “Stand by Me”, the second of the single from Oasis' third album, “Be Here Now” in 1997.
Here is the tracklist of the first date of the tour for the thirtieth anniversary of Liam Gallagher's “Definitely Maybe”:
The tour will only touch cities in the United Kingdom and Ireland: after tomorrow evening's date in Cardiff, the series of events will continue in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin, before closing again in Manchester with a double date on June 27th and 28th .
