LCD Soundsystem: a new album in 2025, the first since 2017
After returning on October 22 with new single “X-Ray Eyes,” their first new song since 2022’s “New Body Rhumba,” LCD Soundsystem say they have more music on the way. Today’s press release announcing the participation of James Murphy and his associates at Primavera Sound 2025 included the news that the band will release a new album next year.
In the press release for the Festival scheduled for June 5-7, 2025 in the Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona, Spain, we read: “All my friends. If this is a celebration, then we proclaim LCD Soundsystem’s anthem “All My Friends” official of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025. Almost twenty years after giving the world this dance-rock ode to friendship, the iconic band led by James Murphy will return to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an integral part of our best memories, their time is always now.”
The latest studio album released by LCD Soundsystem is “American Dream”, and dates back to 2017. Since then the band has released new music through the single released in 2022 – available here at minute 19:40 -, released three years later live album entitled “Electric Lady Sessions”, containing live versions of some songs already published by the band and three covers: “I Want Your Love” by Chic, “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” by Heaven 17 and “Seconds” by Human League.
