LaLadra, new band for Federico Poggipollini
Federico Poggipollini’s new project with Susie Regazzi is called LaLadra: the guitarist took care of the music and artistic production, while Regazzi did the vocals and lyrics. After a series of singles – including “Cv”, “E Cosi Sia”, “We are among those”, “Offline” and “Capolinea” – the duo releases their eponymous album on November 7, inspired by punk and new wave, with songs that speak of themes related to digital solitude, the fragility of bodies and the “invisible diseases” of the modern era.
“The album and the band’s style are based on what has been happening in recent years especially in northern Europe,” Poggipollini tells Rockol, citing names such as Billy Nomates, Sleaford Mods, Dry Cleaning and Wet Leg. “They are all bands that hark back to the Eighties, so the use of the bass, the hypnotic drums which are almost always electronic and then the use of the voice which tells the lyrics in a declaimed way”.
“He is very young and tells things in the style of his generation,” explains Poggipollini of Susie Regazzi. “I was immediately struck by how she writes and above all because I feel she is really very fresh and outspoken, very direct. The compositional part was done in just a few hours, starting from a guitar or a piano or even a bass, in a truly immediate way, then the big work was done in post-production. That’s why I threw myself into it so headlong: there is something that cannot be taken for granted, the fact of working so instinctively, so quickly, so immediate.”
While waiting for the album, a new single, “Generazione Dieta” will be released on October 31st.
