From Maria Callas to Lady Gaga: Valentino and music

Lady Gaga’s new song is a cover

Lady Gaga posted a behind-the-scenes video of her cover of the children’s TV show’s theme song on YouTube ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’, which will debut in a commercial during the next Super Bowl, the football championship final to be held on February 8th in Seattle.

In the teaser, as well as describing the working process that led her to create the song,
Lady Gaga
plays parts of the cover of
“Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”
. She says: “When I think of ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor?’, I think of my first memories as a child. I think of how much Fred Rogers (the host of the program which aired from 1968 to 2001, ed.) meant to people.”

Describing the song he further says: “I feel like this cover should be very heartfelt, gentle and warm.” He further stated, “Mister Rogers has, for generations, been a heartfelt presence for children and families around the world. I hope you sincerely enjoy him as much as I have, recreating him with fellow musicians and friends Alex Smith and Benjamin Rice.”
