Killer Mike Announces His New Project

Killer Mike (Michael Render – born in Atlanta in 1975) has announced a new 10-track project that serves as an epilogue to his 2023 album, “Michael”. The new album, out on August 2nd, entitled “Songs for Sinners & Saints”, is attributed to Michael & The Mighty Midnight RevivalKiller Mike’s gospel group.

In a press release, Mike says, “I lived with Michael for a year and realized I wanted to do more with this sound before moving on.”

Among the 10 tracks we find the recent single “Humble Me” – which addresses the subject of his arrest at the 2024 Grammys (Read here). At the end of the ceremony, the rapper was taken away in handcuffs, accused of having physically clashed with a security guard at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where the event was taking place. He was immediately released.

Also announced are the album’s featuring artists: Offset, Key Glock, Blxst and Project Pat, among others. There’s also a reworked medley of songs from the previous “Michael” “Slummer” And “Ssomething for Junkies“, now titled “Slummer 4 Junkies“.

In the aforementioned press release, Mike said of the medley: “I’ve always thought of both songs as a kind of extended work, so this was a chance to give it a try. They’re songs that deserved a different approach and now I’m torn about which version I like better.”
