Joni Mitchell, a biopic starring Meryl Streep

It was Clive Davis, former founder of Arista and now manager of Sony, who confirmed – as Rolling Stone USA informs – that Meryl Streep will play Joni Mitchell in the biopic dedicated to the Canadian singer-songwriter (the rumor had already circulated a couple of years ago).

Director Cameron Crowe has been working on the biopic for about four years and says:

“We have regular meetings where I can ask her anything, and she speaks heartfelt about all kinds of topics. Joni has kept all her costumes, all her clothes, all her instruments. She even still owns her famous house in Laurel Canyon. So this will be a really personal look into her life and her music.”
