John Lydon think again and would like a duet with Taylor Swift
John Lydonformer frontman of Sex Pistols and founder of Public Image Ltd.last February speaking with NME he thought about his period in the musical industry recalling his most memorable moments and had expressed his opinion on some of the greatest names in circulation at the moment.
Among the latter, it also took into consideration Taylor Swift to which he did not spare spare criticisms coming to liquidate it as “incredibly boring” and saying that “he has no future”.
“There is an entire story of this type of singer in America”, of that style that Lydon calls “the pop teenage trivia”. “The one in which she grew up is too elaborate – he added – and she is trapped by not wanting to annoy her fanbase”.
“No, really, it’s a stupid thing. It doesn’t have a place to go, so it has become a bright dance dress. It will be another of those that end up in Las Vegas, because it is the only place left and has no future”.
Now, however, according to his latest statements to Mirror, everything seems to have changed.
Speaking with the British newspaper, the “punk star” made “Testa tail” and said she appreciated the success that the singer of “Bad Blood” managed to achieve and revealed that she would be open to a collaboration with her.
“Those who do that type of music, like Taylor, do it very well,” he said “Can you imagine that duet would be?”.
It is not the first time Lydon hypothesizes an unlikely collaboration with another artist. In fact, he said he tried to make a duet with Kate Busheven if in the end the project was set aside after a disagreement on the item. “She said, ‘I can’t sing her. Vaffanculo’ … It wasn’t his exact words, but that’s what he really meant,” he recalled.
In the aforementioned interview with NME, Lydon as well as Taylor Swift also targeted Lady Gaga, saying he doesn’t like it “as a human being”.
“Lady Gaga was a massively stratified and structured presentation: a lot of bowie and the best of pop music. But the one in which it has transformed now is a bizarre world” he said. “He plays in the movies and I don’t like it as a human being. I don’t think he projects something healthy. I don’t feel the soul. I don’t feel his heart. It’s a shame. He should have another side.”
Lydon recently also lashed out against his former companions Sex Pistols and the newly entered Frank Carter defining them “hideous” and a band that makes “karaoke” (Read here) and think that the current frontman is a “false” that “pretends to be the original author”.
But not even the Clash They were saved from the fury of the founder of GDPs, who never appreciated the band. In particular, he lashed out against the singer “was Joe Strummer’s voice that irritated me to die, with his fake anguish and his nonsense on the” last war “(Read here)
