Jane’s Addiction Cancels Remainder of North American Tour

THE Jane’s Addiction after canceling one date, have cancelled the remainder of their North American tour following an on-stage brawl between band members that saw the frontman Perry Farrell punch the guitarist Dave Navarro in Boston on Friday evening (September 13).

“The band has made the difficult decision to take a break as a group. As a result, they will be canceling the remainder of their tour,” Jane’s Addiction said in a statement posted on social media this afternoon.

As previously reported, Farrell pushed and punched Navarro while the band was performing “Ocean Size” during their show at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. The singer was separated from the guitarist by a couple of crew members and bassist Eric Avery, who appeared to throw a few punches at Farrell.

Meanwhile, other attendees noted that Perry had been drinking from a large bottle of wine throughout the show. Etty also called out Avery for landing some “low blows” on Perry immediately after separating him from Navarro.

The band had initially canceled only their next show, Sunday night in Bridgeport, Connecticut. But now the entire tour has been canceled. The tour, which marked the band’s first with its classic lineup in 14 years, was scheduled to last until mid-October. Jane’s Addiction were on tour with Love and Rocket
