Green Day: all “Saviors” live in Anaheim. Videos from the internet
Last night i Green Day they played the whole “Saviors” including nine songs never previously performed live. The show, with a small audience, took place in the club of the “House of Blues” chain (owned by Dan Aykroyd) in Anaheim, California.
The concert, which precedes the start of the tour that will take the band through the United Kingdom, Europe and North America from May 30th to September 28th (in Italy on June 16th at the La Maura racecourse in Milan for I Days 2024) , had been announced the previous day (18 March) ed it was sold out.
Already in the days preceding the release of the album, Green Day had held surprise showcases in European cities including, in November, Milan (Read here) to play some tracks from the album.
At the Anaheim show the band of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool played the entire album (in a different order from the original tracklist) including those nine pieces never played on previous live occasions.
In addition to the tracks from their latest work, the three have fished from the repertoire, as they will do on the next tour, also adding songs that they haven't played live for a long time, such as “She's a Rebel” And “Extraordinary Girl“, both from “American Idiot“. They then performed seven songs from “Dookie” from 1994. In upcoming concerts the band will play both albums in full to celebrate their 20th and 30th anniversaries respectively.
Released in January, Saviors is Green Day's 14th studio album and first full-length LP since 2020's Father Of All Motherfuckers.
