Goodbye to Antoine Michel, the musician was 67 years old
The Tunisian-French musician died on Lampedusa, the island where he moved to live, at the age of 67 (he turned 67 last April 5th) Antoine Michel. His “Sharabià” it had become the opening theme of the ten editions of the festival 'O Shah that he kept on the island Claudio Baglioni.
Antoine Michel he was born in Susa, Tunisia, during the colonial period, to parents originally from Lampedusa who emigrated to North Africa. He lived in France before moving to the island where he opened a restaurant.
His “Sharabià” was the theme song of the show At the foot of Kilimanjaro in the seasons in which it was conducted by Licia Colò. The EP was released in 2011 “Once upon a time there was the moon in Lampedusa”while in 2015, together with Bottari of the Cantica Popolare released the album “Universion” with Michel's voice alternating with that of Stany Roggiero and in 2016 “Sharabià”remixed, is part of the compilation “Buddha Bar: The Ultimate Experience”.
