Going to concerts is more fun than sex, says survey
Going to concerts is more fun than sex: this is according to a survey conducted by Live Nation, a live entertainment giant, on 40 thousand respondents in 15 different countries around the world.
The survey found that nearly four in ten people worldwide (or 39% of respondents) would prefer live music to any other form of entertainment if they could choose just one for life, ranking it above movies and sports. And when sex was added to the mix, 70% said they still preferred to see their favorite artist live.
“Live music is not only growing, but it is shaping economies, influencing brands and defining culture in real time. Fans have made live music the beating heart of global entertainment, and now it is one of the most powerful forces driving connection and growth around the world,” said Russell Wallach, Global President of Media and Sponsorship by Live Nation.
Wallach’s statement is supported by the survey, which finds that for 85% of fans, music defines who they are and for 84%, live experiences give them “more life.” The survey It also revealed that around six in ten fans travel to see a show every year, which, in 2024 alone, has led to people traveling 40 billion miles just to see a concert.
While screens may seem like the primary source of entertainment for many people, the survey found that 93% of fans say they attend shows because they want real experiences rather than virtual ones, and 80% prefer to spend money on experiences rather than items.
