Glastonbury 2025: Nile Rodgers confirms his presence

Nile Rodgers of the Chic has confirmed that he will perform at Glastonbury Festival in 2025.

At the moment, the only artist who has been revealed to be playing Glastonbury next year is Rod Stewart.

The former Faces frontman, who previously headlined Worthy Farm in 2002, will return to Somerset for an appearance in the legends slot, which takes place on the Sunday afternoon of the festival (June 30) on the Pyramid Stage.

There’s no word yet on when the full line-up will be revealed, but Rodgers looks set to join his old friend at Glastonbury in 2025. “We’ll have a lot of fun because we’re following him directly,” Rodgers said of Stewart’s confirmation to Camden Roundhouse on November 28th, during the Rolling Stone UK Awards, as reported by Metro.

Reflecting on his long friendship with Stewart, Rodgers added: “Rod and I have been friends for 80 billion years, so that means he’s going to play pranks on me.”

However, the Chic guitarist is worried about the antics that might go on backstage in Stewart’s company, and quipped: “He’ll probably pinch my butt because he always does. I don’t know what the hell’s in it for him.”

“We’re going to have a lot of fun together,” he continued. I don’t know who is in his current band, but we’ll probably play together. “Regardless of what the world may think, Rod Stewart and I really love each other.” We are really very united.”

It was pointed out to Rodgers that he had not yet been formally announced for the festival, to which he replied: “Should I ignore it? I always say too much.”

Rodgers has not revealed which stage he will play with Chic on at Glastonbury, but their last performance at the event took place on the Pyramid Stage in 2017.

For the 2024 event, Glastonbury only revealed the line-up in March, so it could still be several months before it’s revealed who will join Stewart and Rodgers on the farm.

Artists who have been tipped as potential headliners include Sam Fender, Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, Fred Again and The 1975.
