Giorgia: “In the new album I also used autotune”

Giorgia returns with “G”the new album out on Friday, and it does so with the curiosity of those who want to look beyond the fences. The project, which marks a true rebirth, arrives two years later “Blue”. Among the choices that have attracted the most attention is the use of autotunepresent in the song “Requited Hate”. A decision that Giorgia, in several interviews, he explained as part of a broader creative process, in which technology becomes a tool of expression and not of correction. The effect was not used to fix the pitch, but how nuancelike an extra color capable of conveying a different sensation or atmosphere. A way to get involved once again, without blinders.

Autotune, often at the center of controversy due to the excessive use made of it by some artists, is treated here as a conscious stylistic element. With “G”, the artist confirms her desire not to remain anchored to predefined formulas and to continue looking for new paths. A record that marks the return of a symbolic voice of Italian music, capable of renewing itself without losing its identity. It is not the first time that Giorgia talks about the topic: at the beginning of the year she made a joke about autotune officially cleared through customs also in Sanremo in a meeting with various media: “But finally! I would like it too, but both Slait, my producer, and the sound engineer laughed in my face. I don’t see anything wrong with autotune.”
