From Jova and Cremonini to Aerosmith & Yungblud: the releases
There is the return of Jovanotti, the only one in this roundup to be released on November 20th and not on the 21st, the closing of the circle of the Rose Villain trilogy, the new recording chapter of Eros Ramazzotti and the live album by Cesare Cremonini: it is a week full of Italian music. But even on an international level there is no shortage of news: on the one hand a rock EP that has been talked about at length this year, namely the collaborative one between Aerosmith and the protégé of the new generations of rockers Yungblud, on the other a new step forward by the k-pop phenomenon Stray Kids.
Jovanotti – “Niuiorcherubini“
In Jovanotti, it is well known, the boundaries are narrow: he always prefers to go beyond them. This time he did it in more ways than one. Last month he went to New York in search of inspiration and found himself first jamming with a Latin dance music orchestra, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, founded by Aaron Levinson and Oscar Hernandez, then recording an entire album with that group. It wasn’t planned, but Lorenzo Cherubini decided to publish it anyway, ten months after the previous “The human body vol. 1” (which at this point, no, will not have a sequel: “It will come to the next accident”, he said, referring to the bike accident in Santo Domingo in 2023 which inspired the songs on the album released in January – let’s hope then that it never comes). He will release it not on a Friday, as required by the New Music Friday law, but on a Thursday. He honestly says: “Because the new albums by Eros Ramazzotti and Cesare Cremonini are released on Friday.” The title winks at “DallAmeriCaruso” by Lucio Dalla. Jova recorded the 13 songs live with analogue equipment at Brooklyn Studio. “A funky preacher record” he assures. We’ll hear some good ones.
Cesare Cremonini – “Cremonini Live 25”
Cesare Cremonini’s last stadium tour, this summer linked to the album “Alaska Baby”, lives again in a live album simply entitled “Cremonini Live 25”. In the setlist, in addition to the songs from the album released a year ago, including “Ora che non hopiù te” and the duet with Luca Carboni on “San Luca”, there are also hits such as “Il Comico (Sai che riso)” and “Logico #1”. And then the duets with Elisa on “Nonostante tutto” and with Jovanotti on “Mondo”.
Aerosmith and Yungblud – “One More Time”
The EP “One More Time” arrives on November 21st, an unexpected meeting between Aerosmith and Yungblud. The five tracks of the project combine the rock power of the American band with the contemporary restlessness of the English artist. A new updated version of “Back in the saddle” by Steven Tyler and associates stands out, which brings the classic into a context that smells of 2025. The idea for the EP was born after a shared performance that revealed a surprising alchemy between the two generations. The songs alternate energy, irony and more emotional moments. A collaboration that could work because it brings together tradition and modern frenzy.
Rose Villain – “Radio Vega (After Dark)”
Rose Villain presents “Radio Vega (After Dark)”, the final chapter of her trilogy, out November 21st. This is not a simple deluxe of the last volume: the project wants to weld the atmospheres of “Radio Gotham”, “Radio Sakura” and “Radio Vega” into a single universe. “After Dark” recalls the nocturnal and introspective imagery that runs through all of his recent production. The single “Bollicine” opens the dance with a mix of fragility and determination. The entire work is conceived as a chiaroscuro self-portrait, where light and shadow chase each other. An ending that also seems to be the beginning of a new artistic phase.
Eros Ramazzotti – “An important story/An important historia”
Eros Ramazzotti’s new album comes out in a double version, Italian and Spanish. The album celebrates his career by intertwining rearranged and unreleased historical songs and a long list of prestigious collaborations. The launch single, already strong on the radio, anticipates a work that aims to unite past and present. The album will be released in multiple formats, from vinyl to deluxe editions. The project is both a balance sheet and a relaunch: the important history of Eros also becomes that of its community of listeners. Within the project, among the collaborations, there will also be Alicia Keys.
Stray Kids – “Do it”
Not even three months have passed since the release of their latest album, “Karma”, which arrived in stores and on streaming platforms around the world in August. Yet Stray Kids are already ready to release a new album. Not a real album this time, but an EP. It is titled “Do it”, contains five tracks – “Do it”, “Divine”, “Holiday”, “Photobook” and “Do it (Festival version)” – and arrives after the triumphant tour this summer, which further magnified the success of the South Korean boy band.
