From Achille Lauro to Ligabue: the discs out this week
Achille Lauro’s pop cantagorate, increasingly distant from the imagination and the aesthetic trap of the beginning. The rock Old School of Ligabue, which undresses one of its masterpieces, “Happy birthday Elvis”, celebrating its thirty years with a special – and unpublished – version. The return of Neffa. And the superheaven revelation. Here are some listening tips, among the record releases of this week.
Achille Lauro – “ordinary mortals”
He announced it with the usual emphasis that accompanies his moves: “the expression ‘common mortal’ underlines the great fragility that unites us, that vulnerability that makes us all the same, all so human. I think there is no more romantic,” wrote Achille Lauro. He defined it as “the album I have always wanted to do, an album of dedications: from my city to my people, from my great love to those who grew up” and as “an album that talks about my life, of unconditional love, of torment and the mature awareness that love is the only testimony of our passage on earth”. Forget the trapper of “boys mother”: the Roman singer -songwriter is ready to amaze again. The album comes after the “desperate love” hit last autumn and the Sanremo exploit with “unconscious young”.
Ligabue – “Happy birthday Elvis 1995 – 2025”
Ligabue revisited the songs of “Happy Birthday Elvis” in an acoustic key, the album that in 1995 consecrated the Rocker of Correggio. The album with which the voice of “Certa Nights” chose to pay homage to perhaps his most iconic album actually came out on the streaming platforms already on March 25th. But now the project linked to the thirty -year celebrations, which is mastodontic, is completed with the first physical versions: “Naked + Tales “ (the stripped edition of the disc with the versions revised in an intimate key, accompanied by an audio story trace for trace), “New Mix “ (New mixes and new edits by Tommaso Colliva), “Demos & Rarities” (unpublished, demo and alternative versions) And “In the ’24 theaters “ (8 tracks of “Happy Birthday Elvis” performed during the last tour in the theaters of Luciano “Ligabue in the theater – dedicated to us”). Superheaven – “Superheaven”
The Superheaven have announced their first new album in 10 years. The LP homonymous of the Pennsylvania grunge revivalists is released on April 18 via Blue Grape Music. The Superheaven released two albums last decade: “Jar” of 2013, initially presented under the original moniker of the band, “Daylight”, and “Ours Is Chrome” of 2015. While both projects reached worship status in the scene, the Superheaves may have become even more famous during their break thanks to the viral success of the 2013 song “Youngst Daughter”. We will see how the public will welcome the project.
Neffa – “Canerandagio”
Neffa presents its new album “Canerandagio part 1”, coming out on April 18 by number one. This release marks the first part of the long -awaited new chapter of Neffa in the rap world: he returns with an unreleased album. The disc is the result of an intense work of musical production, an evolution of its style that unites the skill that has always distinguished it with sounds, sometimes warm and elegant, sometimes raw and scratchy. The new songs of “Canerandagio Part 1” will be presented live on November 5 on the stage of the Unipol Forum in Milan, on the occasion of “Universe Neffa”. An event in which the artist who shaped the Hip Hop and the Italian soul will retrace his career.
