said: “We are very pleased to announce the relaunch of Vaultternative Records, which creates a direct connection between The Vault and the fans. Frank’s AAAFNRAA (Anything Anytime Anyplace for No Reason At All) philosophy applies perfectly here, because the material can take many forms. It could be an interview, a raw live recording, something Frank worked on that was never released, or a complete concert. The goal is to discover and share what we know that fans will appreciate more. We’re excited to bring back Vaultternative as another way to open up The Vault and bring more content to those who want it.”
Vaultternative was founded by the Zappa family trust and published his first work,
“FZ:OZ”
in 2002. The label then released projects such as the live album of
Zappa with his Mothers of Invention
at Carnegie Hall. The label will continue to highlight rare live recordings, little-known songs, historically significant performances and all manner of curiosities and memorabilia related to
Frank Zappa
