Frank Zappa, 'Apostrophe' Box Set Coming Soon

Frank Zappa’s 1974 album “Apostrophe,” the only work by the great Baltimore composer and performer to reach the top ten in the American sales charts, will be reissued as a box set to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary.

The release, scheduled for September 13, will be divided into six discs (5 CDs and a Blu-Ray with the Dolby Atmos and quadraphonic mixes), and will include – in addition to the original album in a remastered version – also live recordings and rarities from the archives: among the other tracks present in the tracklist, it is worth mentioning two outtakes of “Nanook Rubs It”, the alternative mixes of the title track and of “Uncle Remus” and the live recordings of two shows held in Colorado Springs and Dayton, Ohio, dating back to the year of the album’s release.
