For Nine Inch Nails the end of the tour is not the end of the tours
Last night, March 16, Nine Inch Nails closed their tour.”Peel it back” with a final concert held at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The tour, which also stopped in Italy in June 2025 for a date in Milan (here is our story), marked the return of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ band to the stages after three years from the series of live performances in the United Kingdom and United States.
Nine Inch Nails’ “Peel It Back tour” began in September 2025, continuing for almost a year for a total of 63 concerts. During their February 27 stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reznor hinted that the band would take a break from touring once the tour was over. “I don’t know if we’ll tour again after this, but I’m proud of the show we’re putting on the road“, the frontman declared on that occasion as taken from “Ultimate Classic Rock”. At the end of the final concert of the tour, last night in Sacramento Reznor returned to the topic, clarifying his words and the future of the band. “As we know, this is the last concert of the tour”, declared the frontman, addressing the audience:
“But I want to clarify one thing: I think I said something the other day that was then misinterpreted and twisted into something that wasn’t necessarily true. What I said was that this is the last concert of this tourthat we have no other shows scheduled and that, for now, we have no plans to schedule any others in the near future. This though It doesn’t mean we’ll never tour again”.
He continued: “We might go back on tour. Not next month, not this year. I never said we’re quitting intentionally, and that’s not what I meant. But, to be honest, before this tour we stayed away from touring for a while, because, frankly, I didn’t know if we would be able to do it well, if it still mattered, if we really had something to say. And the combination of this band, this crew and a lot of hard work has led to us putting on a show that I’m really fucking proud of. Thanks for being here. I really appreciate it. It makes us all feel like we have a purpose.”
Thinking about the future of the group’s live activities, Reznor then made it clear that Nine Inch Nails will not slow downregardless of whether they return to tour or not. He added: “What we’re going to do is work on new musiccreate new stuff. And if we feel inspired, and if we think we can do better than this show, then we’ll see each other again. I hope to see you again, and I hope you will come and see us if that happens.”
Despite the conclusion of the Peel It Back tour, Nine Inch Nails are still expected to attend both weekends of Coachella next month, where they will perform alongside German electronic artist Boys Noize – seen opening all of the band’s tour dates – under the name Nine Inch Noize.
