Foo Fighters lose Pat Smear: Jason Falkner ready

The Foo Fighters lose Pat Smear. The rock band’s guitarist suffered an injury to his left foot over the Christmas holidays, breaking bones in the limb while gardening. He will have to rest for a period of between six and eight weeks, or between forty and sixty days, consequently skipping the next live dates of the group led by Dave Grohl. The band has already found a (temporary) replacement: it is Jason Falkner, known to most for having played with Beck and St. Vincent.

The concerts that Pat Smear will miss are those scheduled for January 10th in Guanajuato, Mexico, January 14th in Los Angeles and January 24th in Launceston. The musician should recover in time for the resumption of the tour in the spring (therefore, barring sensational twists, there should be July 5th in Milan, when the Foo Fighters will perform at the Ippodromo La Maura).

“In the classic tradition of rock stars having freak gardening accidents, Pat Smear celebrated the New Year by breaking his left foot. This means he will unfortunately have to miss some concerts while the numerous broken bones in his foot heal. We will miss our beloved Pat as much as you will, but we want him to make a full recovery and get back on his feet as soon as possible. Beck and St. Vincent guitar wizard Jason Falkner will replace Pat during his recovery,” Foo Fighters announced.
