Fast Animals and Slow Kids collaborate with Frank Turner
From today, July 12, an unreleased Italian version of “Do one” by Frank Turner, recorded by the British musician together with Fast Animals and Slow Kids, is available.
“I’m more than honoured to sing this song with Fast Animals Slow Kids,” said the English artist in a press release, who added about his challenge of singing in Italian: “SThey are a fantastic band and great people. And on top of that, they are also great Italian teachers. Singing in Italian was a challenge for me, but I wanted to push myself and show respect to my Italian audience, I hope I did well!”.
“Frank and I met in Milan and it was love at first sight”, explained the Perugian band: “The passion with which he does this job, that of the musician, is something that unites us”. About the song, which marks the first international collaboration of Aimone Romizi and his partners, FASK underlined: “The message of ‘Do one’ is very positive, the lyrics encourage us to be less susceptible to other people’s judgment, which is essential not only for artists but for everyone to move forward and always do their best. It’s a song that we imagine as a relief valve to sing in the car in the middle of traffic after a bad day to wake up from the torpor”.
The original version of “Do one”, included on Frank Turner’s latest work, “Undefeated” (here is our review), was described by the artist as follows: “‘Do one’ is the last song I wrote for the new album, and the first song on that album, and the first single. So it’s a summary of what I’m trying to say with this record, a record about survival and defiance, but also with a sense of fun and self-deprecation. After 19 years of being a solo artist, I’m still standing and putting out some of my best work. It feels good”.
Fast Animals and Slow Kids – whose recording career has been limited to the 2021 album “È già domani” (here is our review) and who are fresh from their first tour in Europe and the UK – released their new single “Come no” last June, which previews new music from the band that will be presented live around Italy from December with the “Festa tour 2024”.
