Farewell to Livio Macchia dei Camaleonti
Livio Macchia, founder in 1964 of the chameleons, died today – The group began the record activity in 1965. Paolo De Ceglie (the drummer) died in 2004, Tonino Cripezzi (the solo singer) in 2022, Riki Maiocchi had disappeared in 2004 (Mario Lavezzi and Gabriele Lorenzi also took part in the complex).
Characteristic element in the image of the group – he had very curly hair and mustache – the bassist had occasionally also been a solo singer, and with his Rauca voice it was the alternative to the melodious crypezzi. The group, in a training obviously remodeled with new grafts, had celebrated with a live concert, on June 30, 2025, the sixty years of career.
The two songs most characterized by Lucio Macchia’s voice are “Applause” and “Mamma Mia”, the latter signed Mogol-Battisti.
