Eurovision 2024, who is the favorite according to the bettors
The predictions are to be taken with a grain of salt: if only because they photograph a partial situation, considering that nine countries are still missing – those that have yet to indicate the name of their representative are Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Portugal, Serbia , Sweden and Switzerland, while Croatia will reveal the winner of Dora 2024 tonight, the internal competition with which Zagreb chooses its candidate – and that the cast of participants in the event will close in March. However, in the meantime, the odds assigned by bettors to the competitors announced so far in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 give an indicative idea of who could compete for the victory of the festival from 7 to 11 May in Malmö, Sweden.
In the lead, according to data aggregated by Eurovisionworld, the reference portal for Eurovisioners (as the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest are called), there would be the Ukrainians Al’ona Al’ona & Jerry Heil, competing with “Teresa & Maria”: the song was written and composed by the two artists together with Anton Čilibi and Ivan Klymenko, the latter best known for having edited the production of “Stefania” by the Kalush Orchestra, the song that won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in a few months after the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Last year the Tvorchi, competing for Kiev, with their “Heart of steel” in Liverpool ranked sixth: according to the ranking drawn up by Eurovisionworld, this year Ukraine has a 17% chance of winning.
In second place is Angelina Mango, who as winner of the latest Sanremo Festival will represent Italy in Malmö with “La noia”. According to forecasts, she has a 9% chance of repeating the feat that saw Maneskin triumph in Rotterdam in 2021.
The Belgian Mustii, who will represent Brussels with “Before the party’s over”, has a 5% chance of winning Eurovision 2024, while the portal assigns the British Olly Alexander – he is a star across the Channel: his CV also includes collaborations with icons such as Elton John and Kylie Minogue – with his “Dizzy” 4% chance of winning. The Spanish Megara, the last to enter, who will represent the Republic of San Marino in Malmö after sensationally beating Loredana Bertè last night in the final of A Voice for San Marino, have just a 1% chance of winning.
