Ermal Meta, the new album is “Vital functions”

In conjunction with his participation in the Sanremo Festival, where he will be competing with “Stella stellina”, Ermal Meta releases a new album. “Vital Functions” comes out on Friday 27 February, 2 years after “Buona Fortuna” (2024).
The album is preceded by the single “DeLorean”, out tomorrow. As Ermal himself says: “At least once in our lives we dreamed of being able to go back, to fix things. We all wanted a DeLorean. Close your eyes, you can be anywhere, especially here.”

Pure Ermal Meta gives himself to reggaeton, even if Dardust’s production makes the difference compared to competitors in this genre, mixing it with Middle Eastern sounds. The ethnic dimension, however, is inserted in the context of a song that tells something else entirely, and which for once distances itself from love. It is the story of a Palestinian girl:
“I also thought about running away/From a land that doesn’t want us/But I don’t know where to go/Between walls and the sea I can’t stay/Stella, little star/The night is approaching”.
