Editors release “Seriously”, third preview of “Surface, Echo & Sound”
Editors present their new single “Seriously”, the new preview of their eighth studio album, ‘Surface, Echo & Sound’which will arrive October 30 through Play It Again Sam.
The song shows a new facet of the band after “EBM” (22), the result of a collaboration with electronic producer Benjamin John Power, aka Blanck Mass. The vocalist Tom Smith brought the band a series of acoustic-based songs that were developed in collaboration between all the members, returning to their roots working together in a rehearsal room, after three albums conceived mainly as studio projects.
Musically, “Seriously” moves between new wave and ’80s indie rock, driven by energetic guitars. Lyrically, the song is about finding a way forward when life gets dark, although Smith claims that, despite the usual perception of Editors as a dark band, their lyrics are actually shot through with love and hope.
‘Surface, Echo & Sound’ It will be available on LP, CD, cassette and digital and will include eleven songs of which we have already heard “The Rush”, “Call It In” and this “Seriously”.
The band has also announced an extensive European and British tour for 2027, with three dates in Spain: Madrid (January 29, La Riviera), Valencia (January 30, Roig Arena Auditorium) and Barcelona (January 31, Razzmatazz).
Tickets are now on sale at Fever.
