Eddie Vedder and others in a new tribute album in Neil Young

Fiona Apple, Eddie Vedder, Courtney Barnett and other artists reread the songs of Neil Young as a tribute in a new tribute album. The disc, coming out on April 25, is titled “Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young” and includes in total 14 covers. Among the others who participated, also Sharon Van Etten, Lumineers, Stephen Marley, Mumford & Sons and Doobie Brothers.

“Heart of Gold” comes out as the first release of a two -volume project, whose proceeds will benefit the Bridge School.

As anticipation, the first two singles of the album have been published today, February 7,: the covers of “Fight Love” performed by Courtney Barnett and that of “Southern Man” by Chris Pierce.

Speaking of his contribution in a declaration, Barnett said: “‘Fight Love’ is one of my favorite songs of Neil and the text seems particularly relevant in this historical moment.

It is a real honor to be part of this tribute that helps to raise funds for The Bridge School. “As for Pierce, he expressed how honored to be part of” Heart of Gold “and explained that he had chosen to make a cover of the song “Southern Man” after he came to him in a dream.
