Ed Sheeran returns to perform “Fairytale of New York” live
Ed Sheeran has concluded the series of tour dates scheduled for 2025 in support of his latest album, “Play”, released on September 12th. Before returning to the stage next January, the British singer-songwriter is now ready for a break after having dedicated his personal Christmas wishes to his fans in England and Ireland. During the shows in Coventry and Manchester on 5 and 7 December, as well as in Dublin on 9 December, Sheeran closed with a cover of “Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues.
It is not the first time that the voice of “Thinking out loud” reinterprets the classic from the late Shane MacGowan’s band. Among other things, Ed Sheeran had played a cover of “Fairytale of New York” already in 2017 during his performance at the Live Lounge on Radio 1, BBC.
Next year the singer-songwriter from Halifax, seen in Italy last June 14th at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome with the only date this year of his “+–=÷× Tour”, will be involved in the concert series “The loop tour”, starting on January 16th 2026 and with dates scheduled until November next year.
