Dream Theater: Mike Portnoy’s pre-concert playlist for tours
Back in concert with Mike Portnoy after 14 years on the occasion of the tour to celebrate forty years of career, which also stopped in Italy last October, Dream Theater will continue the tour also in the summer and will return to our area for four new shows.
Regarding the series of dates to celebrate the band’s fortieth anniversary of activity, Portnoywho returned to the lineup in 2023 after leaving the group in 2010, shared on social media the playlist he compiled for the tours. The drummer, in addition to being behind the drums, has therefore returned to also cover the role of responsible for the music that the public listens to before Dream Theater goes on stage.
Among the songs in the selection is “Lingus” by the fusion ensemble Snarky Puppy at the beginning, as well as “Follow my way” Of Chris Cornell along with songs by Air, Frank Zappa, Biffy Clyro, Queens of The Stone Age, Muse and others.
“One of the things I love to do for all the bands and tours I’ve been on is choose and program the music that plays before the show,” Portnoy wrote in the post: “Here’s what show attendees heard on the ‘DT40 tour ‘ before the show starts, every evening.”
