Dream Theater announce the release of the album "Parasomnia"

Dream Theater, countdown to “Parasomnia”: new single

The countdown for the release of Dream Theater’s new album, entitled “Parasomnia” and arriving on February 7, 2025, is increasingly tight. While we are about two weeks away from the release of the album, the band’s first studio work back with Mike Portnoy in the lineup, another preview has been shared.

As the third single from “Parasomnia”, after “Night terror” and “A broken man”, the Four Horsemen have decided to release the song “Midnight Messiah” and its video.

Accompanying the song, which marks Portnoy’s first lyrical contribution since 2009, is the clip created using footage from the last tour and edited by Mike Leonard, a long-time collaborator, thanks also to footage collected by documentarian Wolfe Eliot and Paul Green Productions.

Mike Portnoy’s comment:

“It was great to write lyrics again and contribute to this chapter of Parasomnia’s story. DT fans will enjoy discovering some of the hidden gems I put into the song that reference many of my past DT lyrics. . and the video is a great representation of the excitement of the first two legs of the tour we recently completed in Europe and South America. Just in time to prepare for the next leg in North America, which we can’t wait to embark on.”

“Parasomnia” will be presented live by Dream Theater also in Italy, for five events next summer:
