Born on August 21, 1939 in Santa Croce sull’Arno, in the province of Pisa, Aldo Caponi (this is the legal name of Don Backy) partly owes the ups and downs of his career as a singer and songwriter to his fiery nature. This does not take away the fact that, both as a singer, in the Sixties, and as an author, later in his career, he has done himself proud.
