One Direction tragedy: Liam Payne dies at 31

Death of Liam Payne: a man arrested

There would be a breakthrough in the case on the death of Liam Payne. One of two people accused of supplying drugs to the British singer before his death in October 2024 in a Buenos Aires hotel has been arrested. Police sources reported this to AFP and the news was reported by Adnkronos. The man, identified as Braian Paiz, 24, a waiter, is accused of delivering cocaine to Liam Payne two days before the singer fell from the balcony of his hotel room, and is one of five people charged in this case. Paiz’s house in Budge, in the province of Buenos Aires, was searched by the police and the arrested man was taken to court.

Prosecutors said on Monday that Mr Paiz was “accused of delivering cocaine” to Mr Payne, whom he met at his hotel on October 14 and had “taken to room No. 310, entering the room with him”. In November, Braian Paiz denied in an interview that he had supplied drugs to Payne, although he admitted meeting him and spending time with him in his room. Argentine justice ruled that the man had “supplied drugs in exchange for money” and on Monday ordered the provisional detention of two of the five people on trial, including Paiz.
