Cor Veleno and Fabri Fibra: “Keep Sanremo, we Luca Carboni”
Take a symbolic band of the underground and one of the most influential rappers on the Italian scene, mix everything together and you will get a rap piece with a very high degree of hip hop: “Pallottole sull'amore”, a single featuring the collaboration between Cor Veleno and Fabri Fibra, represents, in the group's new album, a collective symphony: a journey guided by three creative minds and a tribute to Luca Carboni's song, “Fragole Buon Buoni” which inspired its composition. With Fibra, also in great form on this track, which stings in its bars: “Keep Sanremo, we Luca Carboni”. The original idea of ”good strawberries” as an internal refuge was born from the genius of the late Primo Brown (here is the article on the recent documentary dedicated to him), who shaped the melody. From the “new shoes”, a symbol of rebirth, to the complex human nuances in the central section, “Bullets About Love” is a reflection on youth and a shared return to the roots: an experience, in the name of Primo, in which each rapper was able to contribute with his voice and his vision.
With a career spanning over a quarter of a century, Cor Veleno are a pillar in Italian hip hop. Thanks to their manifesto albums, they contributed significantly to the development of the movement in the country, with their own sharp samples, busy lyrics, incisive rhythms and a mix of influences ranging from hip hop to urban sounds to hardcore rap. Over the years, the group has explored various musical directions, integrating elements of jazz, funk and rock, but keeping their powerful identity and unwavering passion intact.
“Fuoco sacro”, the eighth album of their career, out on March 15this a tour in the heart of hip hop culture, designed to celebrate fifty years of the movement: it comes at the end of an intense musical journey, marked by projects such as “The spirit that sounds” (2018) and the collaboration with Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti for “Meme K Ultra” (2022). Numerous guests, including rap legends and new protagonists, including the already announced Colle Der Fomento, Mostro, Marlon Peroza and Fabri Fibra. Squarta and Gabbo are producing, capable as always of overcoming the conventions of contemporary music to fuel that “sacred fire” that has burned in Cor Veleno since their debut. “Fuoco Sacro” was preceded by the single and video of the title track “Fuoco Sacro” feat. Colle Der Fomento, from the single “La Novità” feat. Mostro and the single “Comfort Zone” feat. Marlon Peroza.
