Claudio Baglioni appointed Knight by President Mattarella

This morning, Thursday 21 March, Claudio Baglioni was appointed Knight of the Grand Cross – the highest and most important honor granted and conferred by the President of the Republic – by Sergio Mattarella: the title was conferred in light of the “merit acquired in the field artistic, professional, social and humanitarian”.

“Baglioni has become one of the most refined and loved interpreters and spokespersons of important moral, human, civil and social values, managing to involve, make people reflect and excite generations, cultures and existential visions that are sometimes profoundly different from each other,” reads the note. spread in this regard by the artist's staff: “A particularly significant testimony to fundamental values ​​such as love, freedom, dignity and inviolability of the human person, civil rights, integration – the only effective response to the feral lack of culture of disintegration – the pro-European spirit – testimony culminating in an exclusive concert held in front of the European Parliament, gathered in plenary session – solidarity – through participation in all the most important national and international initiatives – and peace, publicly witnessed and invoked several times in many passionate, autographed interventions on the pages of the main media outlets in our country”.

Last February 13th Baglioni announced his last indoor tour, which started from Eboli last February 13th: the series of events, whose closure for the moment is set for March 27th at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome, is the first step in the artist's farewell to the stage. “I will finish (my musical activities, ed.) by 2026,” the singer-songwriter explained last January 20th: “In the thousand days to come – continues the Roman singer-songwriter – I will do other projects, yet to be defined, both live and on record with new songs.
