Cigarettes After Sex cover The Doors

Cigarettes After Sex are back. More than a year after “X’s”, their latest album (here is our review), Greg Gonzalez, Randall Miller and Jacob Tomsky return with a double single: the unreleased “Anna Karenina” and a cover of “The crystal ship” by the Doors.

Anna Karenina” fully reflects the trio’s stylistic signature: slow, sensual, emotional, with lyrics that recall a confession. The other side of the coin, the cover of “The crystal ship”, is instead a tribute to the Jim Morrison’s romantic fatalisma dimension to which Cigarettes After Sex certainly feel they belong.

The group’s last performance in Italy dates back to last November, when they sold out the Forum in Assago with their dreamy, melancholic, enveloping and hypnotic dream pop: you can read the story of that evening here.
