Chris Martin’s son has released his first single
By dint of looking for his way, he found it. Or at least, so it seems. Moses Martin, son of Chris, the leader of Coldplay, has released the debut single of his group, Peole I’ve Met. It is called “Promise” and marks the debut recording of the group, composed of Martin together with Andrew Suster and Orlando Wiltshire (the bandmates are the same ones who made up Dance, the previous incarnation of the group). Here it is, below:
The band signed a recording contract with Interscope Records, the label for which Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Bts, Benny Blanco and Gracie Abrams record.
Between echoes of Temper Trap and Tame Impala, the single winks more at alt-rock than at the multicolored pop that has long characterized the records of dad Chris’ band.
Second child of the couple formed by the Coldplay frontman and the actress Gwyneth Paltrow, after Apple, born two years before him, Moses Martin – his birth inspired “Moses”, a song that Martin dedicated to his ex-wife – has never been a big fan of the “Viva la vida” group. In an old interview his mother Gwyneth Paltrow, who divorced Martin in 2016, when Moses was only 10 years old, said: «In the house the one who sings most of all is Moses. Sing and hum all day long. No, not my husband’s songs… He likes T-Pain or what’s on the radio better. Very pop songs.”
Despite this, the boy was convinced by his father to participate as a backing vocalist on several Coldplay albums. There was (also) his voice, for example, in “O”, one of the songs contained in the album “Ghost stories”, published by the British group in 2014. Two years later his name appeared in the credits of “A head full of dreams”: he played the tambourine in “Up&Up”. In 2019 he even co-signed a song by the band, “Orphans”, contained in the 2019 album “Everyday life”, also participating in the backing vocals together with his sister Apple.
