Carlo Conti responds to Alessandro Gassmann
Last night, a controversy surrounding the presence of Gianni Morandi in Sanremo, who surprisingly appeared on the covers evening and sang his “Vita” with his son Tredici Pietro. Alessandro Gassmann had noticed that he, Leo’s father, was prevented from participating in the race.
The artistic director responded today at a press conference, recalling that several artists have collaborated with sisters, mothers, fathers and children
“I think there was a small misunderstanding. This year we chose not to host, given that there are a lot of fiction, no Rai fiction, but contrary to my interest, it was decided to increase the Rai commercials. No problem, I’m sorry if there was this misunderstanding with Alessandro. After all, this is what also occurred with Luca Argentero. The festival regulations do not stipulate that relatives cannot come on stage, for example there is Raf’s daughter, Brancale’s sister. If Alessandro had wanted to do the duet with Leo I would have immediately said yes, it is a family that is demonstrating all its value.”
This is what Gassman wrote on social media:
Ah… so it wasn’t true that when a singer is competing in Sanremo a relative cannot participate in the festival, and I absolutely agree, a meaningless rule. Because I should have gone to the festival to present “Guerrieri”, the series that starts on Rai1 from Monday 9 March, based on the wonderful novels by Gianrico Carofiglio, but they told me I couldn’t because I’m the father of a singer…
oh well, come on, these dicks, rules are NOT the same for everyone. see you from March 9th.
