Carl Palmer, the ruler of prog drums

Today is 's 74th birthday Carl Palmerbeing the drummer, born in Birmingham (Great Britain) on 20 March 1950. Palmer is a child prodigy of music, at just 19 years old he founded the Atomic Rooster and with the band he recorded a single album as early as the following year, together with the keyboard player Keith Emerson and the bass player Greg Lakegives life to the champion group of progressive rock, the Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

In 1980 he recorded a single album in PM and, repeating what happened between the Sixties and Seventies, in 1981 he joined the Asia together with the exes Yes Steve Howe And Geoff Downes it's at John Wetton (King Crimson, Roxy Music). In the third millennium he published some solo records but there is no doubt that the golden period of his career – when he was considered one of the best percussionists in the world – was the one spent in Emerson, Lake & Palmer. And it is precisely with a 'best' of the British trio that we want to celebrate the birthday of Carl Palmer.
