THE Caliber 35 will present live, during the review JazzMetheir new EP entitled “Jazzploitation“, out October 18th via Record Kicks.

This new project of the super band represents an exploration into the world of jazz, particularly in its psychedelic, jazz-funk and rare groove variants, even though the members of the band are not professional jazz musicians.

The EP is inspired by artists such as Bob James, Lalo Schifrin, Miles Davis and Idris Muhammad.

The first single from the EP is a reinterpretation of the famous theme “Monday Cinema“, originally composed by Lucio Dalla for RAI in the 80s and features singer Marco Castello. The EP’s tracklist also includes “Chaser”, a jazz-funk song by Piero Umiliani, “Nautilus” by Bob James, and “Ascenseur pour l’échafaud” by Miles Davis, all pieces that highlight Calibro 35’s talent in reinterpreting classics of the genre.
