Bryan Adams Plays Songs He Wrote for Kiss
Bryan Adams He posted a video for his version of “War Machine”one of the two songs he co-signed for the Kiss for their 1982 album “Creatures of the Night”.
“War Machine”
follows on from
“Rock and Roll Hell”
released earlier this month, the other song he signed for
“Creatures
of the Night”
The songs will soon be made available on a double A-side vinyl single.
The Canadian musician explained: “I was excited to work with them at the time. I was a broke songwriter, and they came along at the right time. While I was sitting with the band, Gene (Simmons, Kiss bassist and singer, ed.) played me this great bass riff, which ended up becoming the backbone of “War Machine.” I tried to think of a theme that could match the riff and came up with the title, which was actually a homage to a comic book character.”
“Creatures of the Night”
It was, in 1982, the attempt of the
Kiss
to reconnect with their rock’n’roll past after having experimented, without much success, with pop, disco and prog musicality in the previous years. The album, as reported by Ultimate Classic Rock, was perhaps the closest the band got to metal.
“War Machine”
has been a regular presence on the concert setlists of
Kiss
. It was also performed by the American band during the group’s last ever live show, on December 2nd last year in New York. Talking about that song in 2021
Bryan Adams
He said, “Well, I’ve never seen them live. So I’m happy to hear it worked.”
