Goodbye to Brian Wilson, wrote the most beautiful pop song ever

Brian Wilson: the moving tributes of Al Jardine and Beach Boys

“Brian Wilson, my friend, my classmate, my football teammate, my partner as a beach boy and my spiritual brother, I will always feel lucky to have had you in our lives all the time you have been there”: thus begins the moving tribute of Al Jardine to Brian Wilson, the founder of the beach boys, who disappeared yesterday at the age of 82 Neurocognitive disorder similar to the dementia made public at the beginning of 2024. And to the tribute of Al Jardine there is also that of the other historical components of the formation of beach boys, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston: “Together, we have given the world the American dream of optimism, joy and a sense of freedom: music that made people feel good”.

Jardine, 82, was together with Wilson among the founders of the band of “Good Vibrations”: with them there were also the brothers of Wislon, Dennis and Carl, who disappeared one in 1983 and the other in 1998. “I think the most comforting thought at this moment is that you gathered in Carl and Dennis, while singing those beautiful harmonies again. You were a humble giant who always made me laugh and we will celebrate your music forever. Brian, I will miss you really … yet tonight I feel the warmth of the sun inside me. At Jardine and Brian Wilson they had grown together, before founding the band destined to revolutionize the rock.

“We are grieved for his disappearance. We will continue to keep the timeless music that we have created together and the joy that has led to millions of people over the decades. And even if we miss his legacy, his inheritance will live through his songs and in our memories”, added the beach boys, celebrating Brian Wilson and his artistic inheritance.

Brian Wilson left the beach boys in the 80s, trying in 1988 to play his solo career card with the album “Brian Wilson”. Only in 2012 the musician would return to tour with the group, also affecting a new album with his teammates, “That’s Why Good Made The Radio”. Last year to bring back the surviving members of the 100 million copies sold worldwide again the director Frank Marshall, who dedicated the exciting documentary on Disney+ “The Beach Boys” had thought about it worldwide. In the docu-film, Marshall reported the beach boys on the beach of Malibu where in 1963 the iconic cover of “Surfin ‘Safari”, the debut album, was taken.
