Bono as a street musician in Dublin: the video

Christmas surprise for U2 fans in Dublin. On December 24, the evening of Christmas Eve, Bono performed as a street musician for passers-by in his hometown. She sang “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home),” one of her favorite Christmas songs, along with Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May. He did it on the occasion of Busk, the Christmas Eve charity event which is traditionally hosted on the streets of central Dublin. Introduced as “Mr. Bono”, the U2 frontman left passers-by speechless. Here is the video:

U2 recorded their version of “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)” in 1987, a song originally performed by Darlene Love, who recorded it in 1963: the band’s version of “One” was part of a charity compilation, “A very special Christmas”.
